It might be why you do too, but you just never stopped to think about it

It’s the middle of the World Cup. It’s the middle of the NFL season. It’s the start of both the NHL and NBA seasons. College football and basketball are in full swing. There are big fight nights most weekends. Right now is an absolutely incredible time for sports fans. It’s an incredible time for me.

One of the nicknames my Pops gave me growing up was “One-more-time,” because I was such an active kid. I could kick a soccer ball or play catch until the other person passed out. My parents essentially treated me just like our black lab, Sasha, who needed to be exhausted every day.

I not only loved sports, but I was also a great athlete in my youth. I set my high school scoring record in soccer. I then went on to play in college, struggling through two torn ACL repairs. I’m now almost 40 and although my knees are constructed out of paper mache, I still love competing. I love playing any game.

I also love watching pretty much any game, and I recently had a revelation about why I find such comfort in the WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS!
