Sounds like an interesting comparison. There's no doubt growing up where I did, camping was the cheaper option for my family... buy thousands of dollars. Gas was cheap back then, camp sites were free, and we would buy most meals at grocery stores and prepare them at the campsite. It was about as close to a "free" vacation as you can get for a family of 4. Maybe there are different costs for things in Mallorca...
