Pancakes for Pup, a Love Letter 🥞❤️
One part of my third-anniversary gift to my partner, which I only now decided to share publicly—with her blessing of course.
I cried a bit in public when I first wrote this for my partner. I presented the words below to her as a part of our third-anniversary celebrations a few months back. I made a little handwritten card—like a 9-year-old would on Valentine's day—only this one had a lot of words in it (find them below). I play guitar and she’s repeatedly asked in a loving way “when are you going to write me a song?” It’s not a song, but this came out of me one day at a cafe while she was away and I was missing her deep inside, somewhere between my kidney and lungs. I love my partner. I love the life we’ve built together. It’s not always easy, but nothing worthwhile is. I hope you can feel our love—that you can join us a bit—on this imagined morning we never lived exactly, but have lived some version of dozens of times now. It’s all I really want.
I finally decided to share it because I love love. I think sharing love is wonderful, be it with your partner, dog, best friend, family, or in a creative art form like this one. I’m proud of our love, so why not shout it from the interweb’s mountain tops—Mt. Medium.
