I just learned another one... "no dice" was first used more as GOOD LUCK... meaning you wouldn't be caught for gambling when dice rolling and gambling of any kind was frowned upon. No it means BAD LUCK because "no dice" means you didn't hit. Weird how expressions and idioms change and morph over time. Great concept for a post, mate!
