Five Reasons Trump Was Reelected That Nobody Is Talking About

It’s not the border, “wokeness,” or the economy, it’s deeper than that.

Preface: I’m a US passport holder from Wisconsin, but I’ve been gone for about 15 years. I traveled for a long time (even wrote a book about it) and have been in living in Mexico since the pandemic. I have some distance from the political tensions and consequences in The States, but like everyone in the world, I’m still impacted by it. I still care about the country I was raised in and educated by. I care deeply about the people living there. These are my reflections on what I think is going on behind the result, and I don’t see the talking heads filling news cycles giving any of these five points much air time.

1. The political pendulum is flying back and forth

The party in power of the electoral branch of government has now switched in each of the last 4 elections.

In 2012, we reelected Barack Obama.

In 2016, we surprisingly elected Donald Trump

In 2020, Biden won the presidency (if you want to debate whether or not this is true, please stop reading this now.)
