As a self-published memoir writer who's sold close to 1000 copies in the books first two years this article's title made me feel great haha... its hard to believe but 15% seems more accurate. Like who doesn't have a dozen friends/family?
And 100,000 is a LOT OF FRIGGIN books to sell. That's a LOT of unique readers. It's basically the equivalent of going viral on Medium. A lot of people can get 1000-2000 reads but getting 100,000 is a whole different beast.
