Agree to disagree. I lived in Melbourne for 6 months... and if the English lads or Americans or other Expats there would say "melBUN" everyone would be like... why, man. It's not like theres a single Australian who doesn't understand what you mean when you pronounce it "Mel-burn," which is how most non-aussies say it. It would be the same as if in regular conversation you stared saying "NAWRRRR" instead of "no" to sound more Australian... and my point is just to sound like yourself as long as everyone understands you.... you don't need to impersonate an accent and saying "melBUN" is just an accent... not correct or incorrect pronunciation.
